Diagnosed in 2018, this just started about six months ago. Is leg pain, not cramps, but burning sharp pain?

Yes, I have leg pain from cramping. Several of my PD friends also have it. Sometimes it's just my toes and other times it's my entire leg.

One PD friend told me to have a bar of lavender soap and place it on the leg where my cramp/pain is at and it will go away. I tried it and it works (most of the time). I guess it is better than walking off the pain from the cramp in the middle of the night.

Hope this helps. Aida🙂

I have young onset PD and YOPD more frequently presents with dystonia or muscle spasms. I wake up in more pain than I got to bed every day. It’s hard to get up in the morning. I take pregabalin for weird nerve sensations in my legs and torso. Mostly gets rid of the strange tingles, doesn’t do anything for tight leg muscles.

I take ER Carbidopa-Leveodopa 2 tablets at bedtime & 1 tablet of Mirtazapine 45mg and sure does work for me.

‘Ve been taking that for more than a year now with no relief from leg pain. The Parkinson’s Foundation states leg pain is a common symptom of advanced PD. My neurologist put me on Gabapentin 600mg, lets see if that works.

If it is peripheral artery disease (PAD) - Physical Activity might help.

Effective treatment for PAD symptoms is regular physical activity. Your doctor may recommend supervised exercise training, also known as supervised exercise therapy (SET). You may have to begin slowly, but simple walking regimens, leg exercises, and treadmill exercise programs can ease symptoms.
