I was diagnosed in 2016 with pd but was diagnosed with central benign tremors 10 years before the tremors got worse and balance problems and writing and memory the Dr first watched me walk and then test your balance and a month later we did the dat scan but I've known it was pd for years

Symptoms are the first thing doctors look at. Although there are a lot of possible symptoms, which may come from many different causes, some are more common with PD than with other diseases. If tremors are an issue, the doctor will prescribe carbidopa-levodopa. If you respond well to that, then the diagnosis of PD is usually given. If the symptoms are unclear, the doctor may do a DaT Scan, which looks at the dopamine in your brain. Most people with PD are diagnosed when the dopamine levels are about half normal. Since you are still in the early stages, the doctor may not consider it worth doing further testing.

Hi in order to find out if you have Parkinson’s or not your neurologist has to order a special MIR bitch call a DATS scan it’s a full MIR in color and they’re by looking at it they can determine in what stage of the illness you are at. Also with the on starting of Parkinson’s you could fall without really knowing it when you feel a bit dizzy and all of a sudden your leg skipped way and you cannot control yourself from falling. My Second time I had to travel for business and got to the hotel and while I was going to my room in the hallway all of a sudden again my legs gave away and I hit my head against the wall hallway wall. That’s probably the best info that I could give you and your neurologist will then decide the medication that you go on for the tremors and also for the Parkinson’s itself.
