Some days I have trouble getting around.
My doctor said that since I sometimes get dizzy and weak that I should probably use a cane. But most of the time I'm doing fine. I've been wondering if I should get a handicap parking tag. There are so many people that need handicap parking more than I do.

Members responded warmly to the question of when to get a handicap parking tag, with the strong consensus being not to wait until things get worse. Several members shared that they use their tags only when needed, noting that symptoms like dizziness, weakness, and balance issues can make long walks risky, and that a bad fall could mean having waited too long. A recurring theme was that a primary doctor familiar with a Parkinson's diagnosis can easily provide the required form, making the process straightforward through the DMV.

If you feel you're having physical difficulties (Parkinson's) due to balance etc. you need a 'disability sticker/card. Your Primary doctor can give you a form signed by him/her that states your eligibility. Take it to the DMV etc. facility to have them issue it.

I don't go out much but, I use a cane (for balance issues). We only use the handicap thing as needed.

At the time i got my tag I couldn't walk without falling, but now I usually can. Key word is USUALLY. The longer I'm out or the further I have to go the weaker I get. Therefore I use my HC tag and my cane or walker.

I suggest you get you tag soon, before you need it because you probably will eventually. I'm trying to gather that kind of thing and medical equipment as I can afford it so I won't have to worry about it later. Hope this helped!😀
