While I have lost much of my sense of smell it has been replaced with a bad odor all the time. No one else seems to smell it but it is an overwhelming for me. Does this have anything to do with PD?

Good morning David π
I have not had any issues with bad smells.. I seem to have a stronger sense of smell though. Who knows with everything we deal with each day. Maybe it's just a matter of when not if π€
Have a wonderful Wednesday and ...

Yes, that seems to be something PD patients do go through

I can not smell unless it is a wet dog, or men's cologne,,,,but I dare not cook anything
on the stove and go do something else because if it starts to burn I can not smell it. I lost my sense of smell when I had my gallbladder taken out and when I woke up I did not realize it immediately but I asked the doctor what did he snip to cause that...and it happened before i was diagnosed with PD.

My husband can't smell anything. He lost his sense of smell about 3 years ago. It does have an advantage when the dog let's her silent bomb off as he isn't affected, but if the house was on fire or there was a gas leak, he would be in terrible trouble.
