Hello all. Just wondering if anybody has or is experiencing mood swings after taking the prescribed medications. My neurologist prescribed Carbidopa-Levodopa after my last visit and it just seems like I'm quick to get upset or frustrated for little things. My wife has commented on the same. Sent a message to my neurologist but hasn't responded yet. Then again it could be I'm just a grumpy old man. What say you?
Hi Brewskii54. I was finally diagnosed in 2014. I was given Carbidopa-Levodopa slowly and worked up to2 pills 4 times a day. It helped me tremendously. I started having mood swings, anxiety and irritability. It seemed to happen at around the same age even day. My movement specialist upped my antidepressant and added lorazepam. The later seems to really help me. Hope this helps Hang in there . I no longer have a desire to bite people’s heads off. 😊
how many weeks have you been taking it? what is the dosage? If the difference is marked and it's been 6-8 weeks that you've been on it, I would call again.
I don't sleep very well and I've gotten very stiff. I'm taking the carbidopa levodopa one pill three times a day. I find that I get stressed. Easily little things become big things to me. My doctor started me on 1 mg of Calais a Pam at night to sleep it's made a big difference. He said it's going to help with how stiff I am to, this is Eileen
I take C/L 6 pills a day. I do get anxious with any stress I just think it comes with PD at least for me. Not enough sleep is a problem too
I was first diagnosed with a nervous tremor about 6+ years ago. The physician passed away and the new specialist did a brain test and determined I have Parkinsons. I have been taking Carbidopa-Levodopa approximately 4 years. It helps a lot because some days I forget mid day pill and notice later in day. I have determined that I might have had Parkinsons as much as 12 years. I lost most of my sense of taste and smell about 12 years ago.
