My wife has DBS, so we adjust her settings on the dbs and things improve
My wife has PD. She had DBS surgery last July. It truly did help her with her extremities. She takes Cardopa Lopa daily. And that helps with her speaking. I cannot tell you how important it is to have a good Neurologist! She saw so many Doctors who were a joke before finding the doctor she has now! To spouses/partners of Loved ones with PD. You too must learn all you can about PD. Most of all, do not push them! You truly come to appreciate all benefits Handicap people have. That we take for granted! We see a close parking spot. Or a ramp getting in and out of a building. People with PD see a long walk. Or endless stairs we do not even consider! Most of all, know their limitations. Do not push them! Make them get plenty of rest! And you must go the extra extra extra mile for them!
I take mine 5 times a day and gummies for when being around family or other peoples. The stronger ones when around large and loud people.
Will you be taking pills between now and seeing the family? Sometimes the morning dose doesn't do much but a later dose does.
It's really up to you whether the pleasure of being around family will be greater than the pain of dealing with an off day. Some families are fun and relaxing to be around; some are mostly stressful. You know yours.
Definitely do not push them, they will almost certainly fall over and bang their heads on the ground 😉
