There are no standards for an emotional support animal and no legal protection. You can't take them to places where dogs aren't allowed, though some people try. For many of us, all pets provide emotional support. If you want the support of a dog, then adopt one and train it well. There are groups that train dogs specifically to assist people with PD, but they are very expensive and they do more than provde emotional support.
