I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but with the amazing developments in treatment, so many levels and options for care, and family members abilities. My family has been cared for in a variety of settings mostly based on their individual needs. My Daddy had Alzheimers Disease and required extensive care almost from the beginning. However, my Granddad who had Parkinsons Disease, lived into his 90's at home until his passing. I hope others can help you with your excellent question.
