I'm retired but work part time and would like to continue working but I feel it won't be long before I need to give it up. I know that I need letters from my doctors. I'm taking medication but sometimes I feel my head is not attached to my body. I use a cane now due to my balance issues. Honestly, sometimes I try to walk without it. Has anyone touch base with a lawyer concerning the herbicides that causes Parkinson if used? I have used all kinds of herbicides to kill weed. I have no idea… read more
I have representation by premier disability
As an SSI/DI claims analyst for many years, I'll agree with everything said above. Notice, I didn't make disability claims decisions, just $$ decisions as what people were eligible for if approved, for disability. Lawyers aren't necessary or required, but they are very helpful. Only, don't get a lawyer for your first application; wait until you are denied after your very first filing, then get a lawyer that specializes in disability appeals and no cost until approved.. Anything else is a waste of your money.
If your appeal gets turned down get a lawyer and they can get it
Do you have a lawyer
Qualifying for SSDI can be very difficult. Especially why are you still able to work part-time.
My doctors sent me letters that I couldn't work because of my mental condition, serious bipolar and other mental health issues
When I applied for SSDI the first time I was turned down. Finally I went to a lawyer that specialized in disability cases. I had to appear before a judge and panel to explain and tell them why I was unable to work. My lawyer was not allowed in the room with me. I talked about the things that I was going through and why I was unable to keep a job. Each one of the panel had questions about why I couldn't work and about my past experiences. One lady went so far as to ask, can you work as a dishwasher? Can you sweep floors? Finally the judge looked at my hands while I was in the very early stages of PD, st that time I didn't know about pd.
There judge asked if my hands shook like that all the time. I think he qualified me based on that, more than on my mental disabilities.
If you acquire a lawyer to help you receive your SSDI you are far more likely to be able to qualify. You don't have to pay if you don't receive it. They take some money out of your settlement but it's worth it I received a very large settlement because I have been working so long to receive my SSDI. So amount of money that the lawyer took out didn't seem like much. If you truly wanted apply for SSDI I would highly recommend hiring a law firm to help you. Good luck.
