A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am nit sure this medicine is helping my symptoms since side effects seem greater than the benefits

Judith I am glad you are feeling like yourself again. Please make sure keep your doctor informed about any changes or problems you notice. This disease is like a huge puzzle and they need all the pieces so they can fit it all together to best take care of you and your needs. Have a good night's rest 😴.

thank you I’m glad your husband is doing better. I have since taken myself with my doctors permission off of all medication.. I’ve been off of it for about five months it made a big difference of making me feel like myself again.

My husband was on Carbidopa- Levodopa and suffered from nausea, vomitting, extreme fatigue, and slept a great deal of the time. He also started having vivid action dreams, talking in his sleep, and a few hallucinations. His Neurologist put him on Carbidopa-Levodopa ER, which is time released. It has made all the difference in the world. No more nausea, vomitting, no more sleeping during the day, no more vivid action dreams, no talking in his sleep, no hallucinations, and the fatigue has improved greatly. He is more like his "old" self. It has been well worth the change. Hope this gives you some encouragement. Make sure you tell your doctor every, single thing. There's always hope that he will know exactly what to do, and there is always 2nd opinions. I've heard, and read, that Carbidopa-Levodopa is the "gold standard" for Parkinson's medications. May the Lord bless you on your quest for the answers.😊

you need to discuss this with your doctor. The doctor may prescribe alternate meds or change dosage.
