Does stimulating dopamine release cause us to overtax the functioning neurons that we do have left? Does this question make sense?
Thank you.

That’s a good question? I’ve been curious about that since reading an article about it a little while ago.

I think there are at least a few different theories on this, but to be honest I agree with you. The problem is limiting production while still supplying enough dopamine to function fairly effectively. Another issue I read about is the fact that dopamine is going to areas of the brain that normally don’t use dopamine for the same specific task that areas of the brain that have died off normally do. I hope that makes sense.

Right. Im thinking instead of doing things that produce dopamine perhaps we should try to limit production to conserve or not burn out the neuro transmitters we have left. I will ask my MDS next month but was wondering if anyone already knew.
