Great; but I still haven't found a doctor or np who's willing to prescribe even a micro-dose of benzos here in CA. I'm 73, never had a problem of any kind with any chemical addiction, including sugar, and never take more than prescribed dosage. I've even been offered Ambien and declined the prescription because even in the smallest dose, it's too potent a med' for me. I'm leaving this healthcare-for-profit joke of a country as soon as I get a clear diagnosis from both the VA and Medicare.

My husband’s psychiatrist told us if you don’t have a problem of being addicted to things you should be fine with it.

After living in So America for five years and having been prescribed either 1.0 mg Alprazolam or same dosage of clonazapam (as needed for sleep and even helped with balance problems, although daily practice of tai chi keeps me going), usually taking only 0.5 mg's/day, no more than three times/week, I felt much better--helped with sleep--crucial for my bipolar diagnosis or helping me to socialize much more often because I'd often stay inside all day for fear of having to speak Portuguese, a difficult language to understand--native speakers us a heck of a lot of slang. I never, ever felt groggy in the morning; in fact, first thing each morning, I'd go out for some sun and exercise which helped me to maintain, if not improve the symptoms of PD. I eventually moved back to the states in order to be compensated for contracting PD due to Agent Orange exposure or possibly from drinking toxic water during the six month period I was stationed at Camp Le Jeune. Neither the Veteran's Administration nor any of the neurologists, psychiatrists, or nurse practioners I've seen in Calif will prescribe Benzodiazapines thanks to the oxycodone problem or heroin-in-a-pill. There's no comparison, although Benzos have the potential to become habit-forming or addiction--not the case in taking micro doses of Benzos. What did make me loopy was trying CBD oil for insomnia. Even after a good night's sleep, I'd be in a drugged-fog existence for most of the following day, THC or not. Is it just CA or are others finding it impossible to get a prescription for even 0.5 mg's of Benzos? At a time when I'm hearing, "America, love it or leave it," for the first time since the 60s, I'll be moving to either Europe or back to Central or South America as soon as Uncle Sam pays me what it owes me for conscripting me for another absurd, illegal war. The same or similar medications affect each of us differently, so my advice is to use whatever works best for you regardless of what some person with a sheepskin on the wall, lab coat and a stethoscope tells you.

My husband started talking Clonazepan 1.0 mg. years ago for REM sleep disorder way before he was ever diagnosed with PD. He still is taking the same dose after all these years and it is still very effective. He has no grogginess in the morning.

WWP dislikes taking any type of sleeping agents because of morning hangovers. She tried melatonin with the same effects. We tried Greenforia 1000mg Full Spectrum CBD oil, ten drops under tongue, and she sleeps like a baby all night. No morning hangovers with no addiction possibilities. Safe, easy to take, very affordable (online) and her neurologists approves. Good luck. P.S. Also helps with stress, anxiety and most importantly sore muscles and pain. She takes it as needed.
