For me, I developed aspirant pneumonia that landed me in the hospital. I was told that Parkinson’s interfere with one’s breathing because of changes in our esophagus, lungs and tongue. The speech therapist has me doing swallowing and breathing exercises. The VA told me that the two things that will “accelerate “ a premature death due to falls, which I’ve had and pneumonia, which I have experienced to many times! Been there!
