Re Rytary Doses Vs Sinemet
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I sithed to Sinemet after being on Rytary due to high cost of Rytary and my insurance not covering it. Sinemet is much cheaper but not time released like Rytary. Now i want to go back on Rytary to mitigate the off periods on Sinemet.

My question is how best to switch back regarding doses. I tale one 25 mg of Sinemet (carbidopa levedopa) 4 x a day.
What dose of Rytary is eqivalent. I need to know because Synemet is troublesome for me now!
Thankyou in advance for your comments!

Rytary comes in several sizes, but a 23.75/95 is basically the same as the Sinemet 25/100
You don't have to go back to the Rytary for an extended release.
Sinemet CR is a control release. I take the regular Sinemet 25/100 three pills four times a day and two of the Sinemet CR 50/200 pills before bed. They last me through the night from 10pm to 6am.
