Sorry for the delay in getting back to summarizing chapters of the Parkinson's 360 publication from MJFF. Previous summaries covered a look at the time shortly after getting a PD diagnosis and we learned about the Seven Tenets for Life with PD
This summary comes from the 360 document and looks at the time when you begin noticing PD unfolding. This may be when PD symptoms begin to affect your physical, social, and/or work activities. Given the nature of PD, you may already feel like you are… read more
I've noticed since August slurred speech, stumbling,
drooling at night, and shortness of breath when I talk long and when I get tired. I've been tested for metabolic problems and they were all ruled out. Autoimmune concerns are next, and then they will believe me when I say it's PD progression.
Yes I do feel a lot worse than I did yesterday
My tremors have gotten so much worse that I can’t firmly hold my phone or text. Weakness has over taken me to difficulty rising up from sitting. Worse getting out of car and need help. Naps do not help nor do I ever feel rested in the mornings I fight fatigue all day. My house is a wreck. I was always a detailed perfectionist. Never procrastinator. Mentally cannot deal with organization or getting cards in the mail on time. Pain in my neck, knees and upper arms make me miserable. Using my rollator and my arms to rise up from seatings increases the pain in my arms. Had 2 Dr appts yesterday and when I got home could barely stand or keep my eyes open. Slept 4 hrs and went back to bed 3 hrs later. I have no appetite and may eat once a day but not losing weight. Only with God’s help do I still manage getting dressed and getting to the bathroom. I’m very grateful for what I can do and my husband who does so much for me.
I have also noticed that I am about to say something then 3 seconds later I can’t remember what I was going to say. I also am dealing with slurred speech especially when I am tired and I find myself drooling at night if on my side and if I am on my back I wake up with my mouth so dry it’s like a desert and I have never been a mouth breather. The change is speeding too fast and I don’t think I am ready for it either.
Thank you for responding Roy but can you help me understand and learn by telling ,e what dark progression means?
