Flu-like Symptoms In The Morning?

A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

Every morning when I wake up I have stomach cramps and ache just like I had the flu. By midday it starts going away. Does anyone else have problems with this?

David, I had nausea every morning until my doc lowered my levodopa dose. Not a problem for me anymore.
The stiffness is worst in the morning because I am in 1 position most of the night. It's hard and I argue with myself almost every day but stretching and flexing each morning sends the pain on its way immediately. If the pain returns through the day, I stretch and flex again even if I tell myself I don't feel like it.
Hope this helps, Maria

Always have my tea and yogurt first thing. That helps me but still have soreness in knees and back. Depends on weather too.

I’m not sure what medication you’re taking currently. I used to get a little sick to my stomach primarily from my medication so my doctor increased the carbidopa dose slightly and that helped. I always make sure I have some food in my stomach before I take my meds.
