We got a tempur pedic and that helps. Hubby sinks into the foam like a mold and finds it hard to move around. Keeps him from flying out of the bed from the vivid dreams. Plus I’m getting much better sleep too!!!!!
Thank you so much.. he has fallen 3 times From sitting on side and then sliding. I have put railings up but they don’t help with this issue
my wife's father gave me a twin adjustable bed. that has helped a lot. i am not as sore when i am up and easier to sleep.
Separately, I wanted to comment on a prior question regarding being tired all of the time. The people who responded EXERCISE, EXERCISE had the right idea. My husband walked every single day, and he also did stretching exercises that his physical therapist gave to him. I had to remind him, and he didn't always wish to do them - but he did. Until the very end he was able to use a walker and never needed a wheelchair. Also, going to bed at the same time every night, and getting up at the same time provide continuity, and give you adequate sleep. If for some reason he needed a nap, we set the alarm so he didn't nap for more than an hour or so, depending on his activities that particular day. It is totally amazing what exercise will do to slow down the effects of Parkinson's Disease. Keep it up. Cheers!
My husband and I purchased a king sized bed that was split in two with power to raise the head, and the legs when needed - separately from each other. They are not cheap. However, it is very helpful. If he is having leg issues, he raises them a bit. In the morning it became more difficult for him to sit up in bed, so we raised the head of the bed, I moved his legs over the side and he could get up out of bed with a little help from me. The mattress was comfortable as well.
