Hey folks been depressed. I have been having these muscle movements, cramping on toes, muscle contractions ect. I am taking CARB/LEVO 25-100. My nuro dr. stated that the med would not cause this! After four hrs. or so after taking it it stops. I think it does! It also causeing like jerking movments. I am going to change dr. What are your thoughts folks? Feeling lost!

DYSKINESIA

Unwanted movements that can be caused by too much levodopa and/or other Parkinson's disease (PD) medications

Rapid jerking or muscle spasms
Rhythmic, dance-like movements

I had this and take Gocovri (brand) it’s Amantadine (drug). They have different brands like Rytary is cheaper I think. I had DBS and no longer have it at all. I’m planning to get off of the Gocovri or at least try soon. You still take your carbadopa/Levadopa, Amantadine helps the off periods and the dyskinesia

I think you are right about the carbadopa levadopa causing these undesired side effects. My husband has started experiencing these same symptoms after being on this medication for 6 years. My husband's neurologist has suggested he look into DBS to reduce the foot cramping and curling in particular. Changing doctors might be a good thing. God bless you.

Luke: I've been taking C/L 25-100, 2tabs 4Xday=8 tabs/day. I also have had cramps, etc, and have concluded they are caused by insufficient water intake. I've found that the proper daily dose of water is A LOT, and if I forget to drink a lot I can count on some pretty hefty pain during the night. Drinking plenty of water also reduces bouts with constipation, increases energy level and helps control weight. I'm down nearly 40 pounds from what I weighed about 6 years ago when I was first diagnosed with PD. I carry a water bottle in my walker bag, iced and within reach. .Although I've switched doctors twice, the story remains the same. To ward off depression I read, write and watch YouTube. I've come to believe that water is a miracle drug, but since it's free, it's not prescribed. In a month Ill be 95 and am not unhappy.

First is it with another doctor get a second opinion. Nextany time you feel uncomfortable About someone then go in the other direction until you can think differently. Give yourself time to take things thoroughly.
