When we updated our wills, we did Medical POAs and an actual Power of Attorney and a Living Will. You never know when they will be needed.
Good thinking. I haven't done a will yet
What a terrible lesson to learn under such tragic and harsh circumstances. I'm proud of you for being proactive and trying to make things a bit easier for those you love.
Thanks for sharing, Maria
We had our attorney write ours when we updated our wills. It did give us a sense of relief once another part of our future was completed. My first mother-in-law had to go to court to get custody of her minor children. They had not updated their documents. It was a stressful time to get that taken care of what should have been done. Her husband was unexpectedly killed in a plane crash.

It’s difficult for many to imagine a need for such a document but I speak from experience that time will change your mind.i have in various articles that once you know for certain the diagnosis it’s time to work on a durable document and make copies for all the appropriate people involved in your care you never know when an injur or illness may render you unable to make decisions. There’s no need to find out the hard way they a lot of fear can be eliminated in the future.
