My Hallucinations Started About 8 Yrs In. They Were Never Threatening To Me Nor Even Bothered Me Much.

They ranged from pet size dark shapes to colorful full sized figures. Appearing often during the days. As my depression continued the doctor changed my medicine to a unique antidepressive called EFFEXOR. Since raking 75mg a day, I have not had a hallucination. I was shocked. I kind of miss them. I haven’t told the doctor yet. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Clonazepam is the ticket to end Restless Legs
syndrome. As well as a great sleep aid. Ask your Dr today.

Hi Johney — Greetings from Boerne, TX ! I had to laugh when you said you kind of missed your hallucinations as I felt the same way when mine went away. My first hallucination was a black cat that followed me everywhere (even though I knew it wasn’t really real, I still saw him!)That cat put me in some awkward situations especially when I was out in public. Once I was in Walmart and met up with someone I hadn’t seen in a long time, and as we stood there and talked, this black kitty appeared and jumped up on this person’s shoulder while we were talking (And just started licking its paw while perched on this woman’s shoulder). I didn’t know this woman well enough to tell her I had Parkinson’s, much less I was hallucinating a black kitty sitting on her shoulder, but I got really tickled and could feel myself getting ready to break into a raucous laughter, so I told her I had to go, and literally ran to my car, and laughing the whole way. I have a few other fun stories about little munchkins living under my bed, but I think you get my point. I quite enjoyed my hallucinations simply because I knew they weren’t real, and yet to me, because they weren’t scary but always made me laugh. I wish I hadn’t told my doctor, because he immediately discontinued the meds that were causing them. He saw no humor in it at all, which I understand, but it was not a bad thing for me. I hope those of you who are experiencing bad hallucinations, don’t think I’m making light of your experiences, because I do understand the bad ones as I recently had a reaction to some new meds prescribed by my doctor and those hallucinations were very scary and weren’t nice at all. Anyway, thanks for saying you didn’t mind yours Johney, as it brought back my fun experiences with a few of mine! Have a great day! Vicki

I went to see my Dr about my hallucinations and he said what are they like ? I said well they are usually on a beach in the Seychelles. The warm gentle tide ripples across the virgin golden sand as a vision of loveliness glides towards me. It's my wife in a bikini bringing a gin and tonic and a cigar. He said that's not a hallucination, that's a dream 😄😄😄😄😄😄

I've been on Effexor for many many years. My hallucinations started a few months ago. I'm not sure why they started. I've also taken Pramipexole for a few years for RLS and REM sleeping disorder. Doc just increased Pramipexole, I read that it causes hallucinations. Anyone else ??
