Changes In My Mouth
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone else find that the corners of their mouths are ever so slightly allowing liquid to occasionally drip out? I've also been inadvertently biting the inside of my lower lip a lot. Just subtle little changes I'm noticing, can anyone else relate?

It was suggested by our Neurologist to keep some type of hard candy, lozenges at hand to increase swallowing. There is also treatment with Botox Injections into the Parotid glands, ( directly in front of ears) that can help decrease the drooling. It is necessary to seek approval from your insurance company, is relatively painless but may take 2-4 weeks to really see improvement. If so, continue with the injections every 3-4 months to maintain.
We are currently into our second week after injection and trying to keep track of any improvement.

Jeri (from Scottsdale) posted on this sight a recommendation for cough drops to help with this and my husband says it does help with drool and speaking stronger.

I often feel a slight tremor in the left side of my lips. It only lasts a few minutes but feels weird.

Aha! Now I understand why when drinking any liquid, some of it leaks out of the corner of my mouth! Good Ole Parkysunz! (Did I just misspell something?) Thanks for the information!

I would definitely share your resentment on the Remi Martin ...
