I shaved my head in support of my grandson’s DBS surgery. Most have a short haircut with a couple spots toward the front being shaved. Everyone who ends up shaving their heads fighting these diseases are beautiful people. Hold your beautiful head high.
I would like to take credit for this but I only stole it,

I've been to the neurosurgeon for the first consultation for the DBS. They don't shave the whole head, just two strips from the forehead to the back crown of the head. Ummmm....
A thin as my hair has gotten i couldn't cover those spots. So I'm shaving it before the procedure.
My husband, one son-in-law, and one of my daughters are shaving theirs too, in superort. I keep telling them they don't have to.
Frankly we'll see what's happens when it comes to actually doing it.
I'm sure my husband will and my
son-in-law keeps his head shaved already.
My first daughter is all for it, she works from home and nearly all her friends know my situation.
My second daughter has very long hair, (she sits on it). I'm hoping she won't feel like she needs to join in the shave club.
We are getting together Saturday and will discuss it further.
Surgery is not scheduled yet.

My husband is scheduled to have DBS surgery in Dec. we saw a video of them shaving only a
small section near the front hairline. They recommend getting a short hair cut before surgery. A couple months post surgery you could hardly see where the patient had her surgery.

Are you having extreme itching on the back of my head.?

Good question. I'd like to know too. My hair is one thing that hasn't "broke down" with this PD dance. It's still decent. I hope I don't have to shave it.
I realize that sounds so vain.... (hearing Carly Simon in my head now).
When the adult in me kicks in, I know the surgery is more important than my hair.
