I've had ecg's before, but just wondering how easy it is to miss. I saw a private neurologist last night (£200 for 30 minutes) and he suggested that though I clearly had an "off" period (I timed my meds to be as sure as I could that I would) he thought other people had worse symptoms, so why do I feel so absolutely wretched during… read more

Members responded to a question about whether Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome could be connected to Parkinson's 'off' periods, with the original poster clarifying that WPW may go undetected and its symptoms could be mistakenly attributed to Parkinson's. Several members shared personal experiences of racing heartbeats, shortness of breath, dizziness, and fatigue during off periods or exercise, finding the connection worth exploring with their doctors. A recurring theme was curiosity and caution, with one member who is an ICU nurse noting WPW is unrelated to Parkinson's, while others appreciated having a new avenue to investigate with their medical teams.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I’m not taking anything as a given here. It’s just nice to have something to check on.

Nigel, thank you very much for the informative, and (in my case) timely, information.

A short while back I awoke from a nightmare and a very abnormal racing heartbeat. It lasted for an abnormally long time. I wondered what it could have been. Your article gives me something to look into.

I have been inhibited in my boxing workouts by shortness of breath, dizziness, rapid heartbeat , and profuse sweating. The fact that this can be caused by an off time gives me an imedeate avenue of investigation.

I’ll let you know what I discover.

It’s a British article. They have to put up with a lot of our Yankee articles. It’s only fair we should have to do a bit of translation sometimes.

The info is solid gold.
