Hard to say if you're taking too much without knowing how much you're taking. Things like "one pill" don't help as there are at least six "L-dopa pills" I could name that are all different in strength and release rates.

Even then, we don't know "you", and every case is different. This question is definitely one you should run past your doctor.

Thanks Ginny. I find my first dose of the day is well tolerated on the empty tummy. I often experience pain in my left shoulder and upper arm with some of the other doses. I don’t eat for half an hour before and half an hour after doses.

Taking your pills with food, something without a lot of protein, can make them easier to digest. Jim takes his with cereal in the morning and is usually able to handle the meds. Other times he will eat crackers or a banana.
