There are several ways to manage medical expenses with Parkinson's disease. Working with a family member, friend, or patient advocate can help you navigate financial options and avoid ignoring mounting costs. Many hospitals and medical practices offer resources beyond just medical appointments, including patient liaisons and nurse navigators who can help connect you with financial assistance programs. Healthcare providers may offer additional support services like health education classes and referrals to assistance programs. For help with medication costs, speak with your healthcare provider about available prescription assistance programs. Additionally, some medical facilities offer payment plans or sliding scale fees based on income. The American Parkinson Disease Association and Parkinson's Foundation provide resources and guidance for accessing financial support.
