I find Gabapentin a prescribed medication for nerve pain puts me to sleep. Remember though people react differently. Also guided meditations which you can find on your phone by searching meditations will help; they are on U Tube. Just listen to the narrator and you will sleep.and are free. There are many to choose from. Choices are female or male voices.. My favorite is Jason Stevenson.
Where it says "Subscribe " is not a request for payment; it tells U Tube how well the .meditations are doing. Some .meditations sell Shirts, etc; no obligation to buy. Just listen. Hope this helps.

Several treatment options are available for sleep issues in Parkinson's disease. Your doctor may prescribe medications like eszopiclone (Lunesta), which has shown good results in helping with sleep and improving daytime wakefulness. However, it's important to note that long-term use of sleep medications can lead to tolerance over time.

Some people find relief with over-the-counter melatonin supplements, which work with your body's natural sleep hormone. As one MyParkinsonsTeam member shared, melatonin helped them fall asleep and sleep more deeply, though they still experienced periodic waking. Before trying medications, consider these sleep hygiene practices:
- Maintain a consistent bedtime schedule
- Avoid electronic devices and bright lights before bed
- Skip large meals, caffeine, and alcohol in the evening
- Keep your bedroom dark, cool, and peaceful
- Get regular exercise during the day
- Try relaxation techniques
- Get some natural sunlight during daytime hours

If sleep problems persist, talk to your healthcare provider about getting a sleep study to determine the best treatment approach for your specific situation.
