Not high, not low. My husband started out with 4 x 100. That increased to 8 x 100. Then he increased to 4 x 100, 2 x 250. Then it was put up to 4 x 250 and that was too much. He started throwing up often, so we backed it down to the previous dose. His brother, who also has PD takes 10 x 100. Both are at a moderate stage. Jim also takes another PD drug, pramipexol, since he can't tolerate more c/l. His neurologist has tried him on several other add-ons, but none seemed to make much difference.
I take 2 pills 4 times a day. 25/100.
I was diagnosed 4 years ago.
I sometimes take more because food interferes with the medicine, stress, if you don’t drink enough water with your pills.

Is my prescribed dosage considered high?
Each tablet contains 25mg of carbidopa and 100mg of levodopa. When you take 2 tablets, you're getting a total of 50mg carbidopa and 200mg levodopa per dose.
The carbidopa helps reduce side effects like nausea and vomiting while ensuring more levodopa reaches your brain where it's needed. Taking your medication every 4 Show Full Answer
