I have 11 children. If any of them call, I'll be surprised. I've been a disappointment to most of my family my entire life. My 92-year-old father won't call me, nor would he accept my call, but this is Thanksgiving, so I will focus on my husband, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member who requires nothing from me, and I hear him thank our Lord for another day with me, and he spoils me rotten! His brother, Sid, lives in our basement since we rescued him from a Texas hospital. Yes, rescued. I don't know what all they had him on in 22, but he was swollen, and lethargic. He and their sister, Cynthia had been in the hospital for 2 weeks. She was unresponsive and passed the day after we got him out. They were insisting he suddenly needed 4 new IV antibiotics, and were making arrangements to send him to rehab. We assured them that Missouri has rehab facilities if that is what he truly needed. When reminded that they couldn't keep him against his will, he came to, enough to state that he wanted to be released AMA (against medical advice). They had him untethered, and out the door before he could even get dressed., literally. He got into our car still in his hospital gown. Sid was visibly less swollen the next morning. He drove his car until about Lawrence, Kansas, where he was too tired. Bart drove his car the rest of the way to our house and I drove our car. Since then, he has his mancave downstairs and fixes things around the house before I can call our landlady. Sid helps with the bills and bought us a dependable minivan for our birthdays last summer. I think Paul told Festus, "I think myself happy." I agree with Paul, except for my health, I wish everyone to be as I am.

I'm sorry Donna I have 2 kids each wanting me to spend the holiday with but my wife and myself are going to a restaurant. When my first wife was alive and the boys mother everyone always came to our house but she died in my 21 and I remarried in 23 I'd rather go out to a restaurant

Well, it is very normal it seems like that as we have all these medical issues and maybe it's not even that but I know a lot of people that have kids that are home alone for thanksgiving. Nancy's not one of them. Mainly because her son lives on one side of her and her daughter lives on the other kind of hard for them to come up with it excuse.
I have three children and one son that's been a challenge and the other one's been very successful. I'm hoping that the challenge one continues to walk forward and does better than he has in the past 53 years. Our daughter is wonderful and will come and up drop of a hat but she has three daughters and 10 grandchildren which makes us have 10 great-grandchildren. And I could not have them all at me at one time because they want to just jump in time neither can Steve so we have them come see us after Thanksgiving even on Saturday to Sunday because one day with that group it's like the tornadoes are coming. We love them to death there's so much fun but they can be just exhausting. To add to the turmoil is my daughter's like STOP giving them everything. I don't care I'll give him anything they want that you don't want to brush your teeth cool don't brush your teeth if you want this you can have that. When my youngest granddaughter had come up from South Carolina this year with her three one of the things the middle daughter Tatum wanted was this mini doorbell. In the older granddaughter was like you realize she's going to put that on the wall right. you should have got here before she asked. So just understand that it is common from what I've heard from other people my age and older that there's an issue at thanksgiving. Maybe the reality is we should be thankful to stay at home. He has feeling
tube in which I told him was the best meal I ever fixed cuz I'm not a cook. And I had a tuna fish sandwich and it was delicious. My sister-in-law brought me a plate from her doing on Thanksgiving and it was good too. So try not to feel too bad. Mine do not give me unsolicited advice because I'm a banshee Irish woman and I would be on them.
Have a good day
