Brain fog can make it really hard to concentrate on discussions or to have back and forth conversations. She may be losing words, having a hard time spitting them out, or even remembering where she was going with a thought. She may also be depressed, which can make her apathetic. She may feel it just isn't worth the effort it takes to get involved in a conversation because it is just too hard. My husband takes a while to speak his thoughts sometimes. If he is talking to me, it isn't so bad, but in public he is really slow. Doctors and such often aren't willing to wait for him to finish his sentences. So he doesn't bother. He just lets me speak for him.
Thank you
Maybe she thought he was making fun of her?
Ok, thank you! Do you know what would be on her mind when my son shared a joke for a laugh& her reaction was yelling saying I don’t know why I ever let you come over through the years & she punched him & brought him home. He wasn’t mad when he told me & arm sore from her punch. He wasn’t mad he was shocked what “grandma “ did & all I could say is wow
Gives one word answers is why I say she seems less interested.
