As an insulin dependent diabetic, I wear a CGM. I wear the Dexcom G6 and have been for about 10 years. They are moderately accurate. They measure the glucose in the fluid just under my skin. It is not as accurate as testing blood glucose but it's not too bad. The G6 is close to what I get with finger sticks. I don't know what they would test and where it would be placed but hey it sounds like a great idea! I'm not a scientist. Be watching for a PD light hopefully coming out sometime in 2027. Trust me, it is quite an innovation šŸ’” šŸ˜

Theoretically, that sounds like a great idea, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, the problem is that blood sugar levels are easily detected in the bloodstream. My understanding is that the most accurate way to determine dopamine levels is with a DaT scan, and its reliability is apparently debatable especially considering that for Parkinson's, it is not only a matter of the amount of dopamine, but how effectively dopamine is operating in specific areas of the brain, so your proposal would be much more complicated than the sensor that wakes us up as soon as settle into a much needed deep sleep to tell my husband, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member that his sugar is too low and he needs to get a snack.
