I follow the Pro-PD nutrition plan [ Dr Laura Michley] no dairy, like big time NO DAIRY. I feel really good, so I’m going to carry on. Check her out!

Have you been advised to limit dairy products in your diet?

The search results provided don't contain specific information about dairy restrictions for people with Parkinson's disease. However, this is actually a common consideration that comes up in Parkinson's management.

Some people with Parkinson's are advised to be mindful of dairy intake, particularly when taking levodopa medications. Dairy products contain protein that can interfere with how well levodopa is absorbed in your body, potentially making the medication less effective.

If you're taking levodopa, your doctor might suggest:
- Taking medication 30-60 minutes before meals
- Avoiding dairy products close to medication times
- Spacing out protein intake throughout the day

It's important to discuss any dietary changes with your neurologist or healthcare provider. They can give you personalized advice based on your specific medications and nutritional needs. Keeping a diary of when you take medications and what you eat can help identify if dairy timing affects your symptom control.
