My husband has recently experienced increase in "freezing" which causes increase in falls. He is 80 in later stages of PD. I read an article by a Neurologist pointing out that "pills" are ineffective for "freezing" that really got my attention! With encouragement of his Neurologist we ordered the machine and waiting for arrival. Will log back in once we have tried it.
I got one for the same reason. They give you an exercise program to follow and it takes a little time to get used to it but it works pretty well. I would recommend getting into the program very slowly because it takes time to get used to the electric shocks. Do half of the program that they recommend first and see if your husband adapts well to it. I'm taking a break from it right now but when I go back I'm going to try it that way. I think it was originally designed for people who had had strokes and had foot drop so that's why it would work for us. Good luck!
