Members rallied around someone with Parkinson's disease who was struggling with severe anxiety, isolation, and a deep fear of giving up, offering an outpouring of emotional support and practical suggestions. Several members shared personal coping strategies including slow breathing exercises, music therapy, YouTube comedy videos, and the reminder that movement, even small steps like taking out the trash, can help break through fear. A recurring theme was that no one should face this alone, and that leaning on the community, medical support, and personal faith can help keep hope alive even on the hardest days.

Joy, I try to remember that giving up means admitting that PD has won. Never never let that happen. When you feel like giving up go and do something that PD is telling you that you can not do. Show it who is BOSS

JoyDixon: I believe the best course of action is to adapt to circumstances. Not easy but possible. I'm 97, stuck in a wheelchair, unable to do almost anything, but not unhappy, terrified or what-have-you--all because of adapting. I owe a huge debt of gratitude, not to doctors or faith or inner fortitude, but to Amazon, i.e. the ability to us this laptop to order whatever I need delivered to my door virtually within hours. Reading has become an obsession which I could not do without an electronic reader (Kindle). In fact, I'm enjoying books that I never would've read if I did not have PD. I've also become a fan of sports I never would've have watched in healthier times. We really do live in a time of miracles and should take advantage of what we've been given.

MOVE!!! DO SOMETHING!!! please don't just sit there typing these pitiful thoughts. We can't help you unless you are willing to help yourself. Do something outside! Ride a bike....go for a run....dance to some good music. Move a muscle.....and change your thoughts!
