I don’t use a wheel chair, it was only for the fair
I have been using a wheelchair when needed for a couple of years now. Because of surgeries I couldn't hold on to my rolator. I use it at church, the store and anywhere it's too far for me to walk. You need to do this for yourself.
@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, Please share with us all the fun you will be having in your wheelchair whether it be bought, rented, or borrowed. We want to rejoice when you rejoice, and we will gladly cheer you, if, God forbid, your outing not turn out as well as planned!
If you use a chair then use it. Do not worry about what people think. You are making an extraordinary effort to be there and they should respect you for it
I hope you used a wheelchair to go to your fair! My husband found an electric chair that I have used only one time during the year. We went to the enchanted Forest with our grandchildren and I was able to keep up with them and watch them on their rides and adventures! I would not have been able to do that normally so it was well worth being a little uncomfortable about it. I use a cane or hang on to my husband's hand usually but that wouldn't have worked because the park is on a hillside. Do whatever it takes to go out and do the things you enjoy. I also use the wheelchair service at the airport last February and it was awesome!
