First I remove myself from what’s making me irritated. Then after a short rest, I identify the irritation and try so hard how to mitigate it, for me! 😊 When I am faced by the irritant again, I have a pro-react to response. What I haven’t done is to find a way for my facial expression to become more natural. It just shows! Lol

KathyScott2, Parkinson's and Parkinsonism are like that slow drip of water in the sink that irritates you after listening to it in the background over and over and over again. The persistence of the disease can definitely pluck your last nerve. I believe dealing with the constant never ending symptoms of Parkinsonian Diseases heightens your stress/ irritability levels in some cases like you're a Jack-in- the - box just ready to pop. Time and adaptation to the disease create buffers that can lower your stress level. If you are unfortunately dealing with anxiety along with other symptoms you can be wound even tighter. If you realize what your triggers are you can develop strategies like Gordon suggested, the benefits of lower stress/irritability to you will prove to be significant. --- Take it easy for your sake, stress/ irritability is like pouring gasoline on the fire that feeds your Parkinson's symptoms. Like everything practice makes things better, these are big things so it may take some practice. One thing to remember is irritability is a negative emotion. I live by the truth that negativeness does nothing to help me live a good life with my Parkinsonism. I definitely make a concerted effort to remove negativeness from my life and replace it with positiveness which rewards me in many ways. I hope your irritation turns into exhilaration about the beautiful life you have still to live. Your Friend Kay
