@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I'm so sorry to know that your spouse has left. I pray that he will realize what a mistake he is making.
Regardless of the decision of your spouse, I hope that you believe the promises of God. I will be glad to share some with you, if you would like me to. In the meantime, will be praying I will be praying that he makes his presence known to you, so that you know you're not alone. Most of us can't be with you where you are, but I know that countless numbers of us care and we're with you in prayer.

So sorry for your disappointment and distress. No advice to share, but know that you must take care of yourself, and share your burden for now . Hugs to you. Pat881

That sounds incredibly painful, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Living with Parkinson's puts enormous pressure on relationships, and what you're going through is something many others in your situation have faced too.

Parkinson's can change the dynamics of even the strongest, longest marriages. The emotional weight can feel unbearable for both partners at times. Here are some things that may help navigate this difficult time:

- Counseling or relationship therapy — A professional can help both of you process the emotional strain Parkinson's places on a marriage
- Short breaks — Giving each other space during emotionally intense moments can help prevent things from escalating
- Support groups — Connecting with others who truly understand can ease the isolation both of you may be feeling
- Open communication — Letting your spouse know your needs while also hearing theirs can help rebuild connection

One MyParkinsonsTeam member shared, *"Sometimes the struggles I go through with my family wear me down. I keep waiting for the day when they will really, truly understand the struggles of living with PD."*

You are not alone in this. Reaching out to your neurologist or a social worker can also be a good first step toward getting support for both of you. 💙
