Great question! Staying well-hydrated is especially important with Parkinson's, as dehydration can worsen symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, and constipation.

Here's a quick breakdown to help think this through:

Plain Water
- Best for general, everyday hydration
- No added sugars or artificial ingredients
- Ideal if you're not very active or sweating heavily

Electrolyte Drinks (like Gatorade or Complete Daily Hydration)
- Helpful if you're losing electrolytes through sweating or physical activity
- Can assist if you experience low blood pressure or dizziness (which can be common with Parkinson's)
- Watch out for high sugar content in some sports drinks — look for low-sugar versions

Things to consider:
- Some Parkinson's medications can interact with certain ingredients, so always check with your neurologist or pharmacist before adding a new supplement drink regularly
- Coconut water is a natural, lower-sugar electrolyte alternative worth exploring
- Warm beverages like herbal teas also count toward hydration!

For most people, plain water remains the gold standard, but electrolyte drinks can be a helpful boost when needed. A chat with your neurologist or dietitian can help tailor the best choice for your specific situation.
