Lateral leaning while seated is a common challenge with Parkinson's, and it's great that you're looking for solutions beyond pillows. There are several positioning aids worth exploring:

- Lateral support cushions – These are specially designed wedge-shaped foam inserts that fit along the side of a chair to gently support upright posture.
- Trunk support harnesses or vests – Soft, adjustable harnesses that attach to the chair and help keep the torso centered.
- Lateral trunk supports – These are padded armrest attachments that provide a firmer boundary on the leaning side.
- Contoured positioning cushions – Products like the Jay or Roho cushion systems are designed to help with posture and weight distribution.

These products are often available through medical supply stores or online retailers. The most important step would be to ask her neurologist for a referral to an occupational therapist (OT). An OT can assess her specific seating needs and recommend or custom-fit the right device. They can also suggest modifications to her lift chair setup to make it safer and more comfortable.

Getting professional guidance here is really worth it — the right support can make a big difference in her comfort and safety.
