Stalevo
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am taking Stalevo 4 times a day. It seems to improve episodes of stiffness in legs. I sleep better with light dreams. My problems is I take this every 5 hours and almost like clockwork, around the 4th hour I start to have withdrawal symptoms. I become light headed, nauseous, breathing becomes rapid and I feel like passing out. My doctor told me to take 1/2 or 1 whole carbidopa/levodopa tablet when that happens. That works and carries me through the next hour. Certainly can't drive when I have… read more

New Medication Makes Me Nauseous?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have recently changed medication to Stalevo and it's works reasonably well, however sometimes it makes me feel nauseous and gives me a sickly headache. This normally happens first thing in the morning or in the evening, I do try and take it with food and this makes no difference. I am reluctant to change as it does work well, has any else experienced this and have any advice?

If the stalevo is still making you feel sickly you could try adding domperidone to mix. It's very effective at dealing with nausea.

We have been working with a movement disorder specialist since October and have gotten her off all blood pressure meds and next week she will be off axilect. She wants to try a different Parkinson meds but didn't say which one. Has anyone gone off rytary because of cognitive issues? If so which PD drug did you switch too? thankd for… read more

Anyone Taking Azilect And What Have Been The Benefits And/ Or Side Effects? Do The Benefits Outweigh The Side Effects?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My husband was prescribed Azilect, and it made him nauseated and gave him headaches. We took him off of it, and now he is more tired. It would be helpful to understand what medications have proven helpful and which have not. And also whether or not the side effects outweighed the benefits.
