I’m 56 and started receiving disability. I think I’ll become Medicare eligible. Does anyone know that timeframe?
You’d think I’d be able to find that answer, but I gave up wading through the SSA website.
I got Medicare just a month after being approved for SSDI. There was a lot of paperwork involved, but the folks at my local SS office were very helpful.
Has anybody been able to collect social security disability wages due to Parkinsons?
My story with Social Security is very similar. Don’t give up until the legalities are exhausted.
I'm hoping to find suggestions of things to do in New Orleans that aren't too overwhelming for my husband with limited mobility.

For those if us on disability did you apply before or after DBS surgery?
I applied for disability when I was diagnosed at age 38 years old.And got it at the age 40. So it took 2 years for me.
Going on FIVE MONTHS now from when I BEGAN the process of applying for disability. They are just now starting to call me to ask for additional information, etc. So my question is two fold:
1) Is this common for it to take this long?
2)Does anyone out there have words of wisdom for me?
My hope is someone out there has gone through this and willing to tell me their story of when they needed to tackle this. Do's and don'ts, etc.
