Doctor's Recommendation For First Time Visit
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

My Mom is visiting here for a couple of Months and I wanted her to be seen by some doctors here so she could have records and other things that could help her with her PD, I tried to call 3 neurologist around my area and they're not accepting any new patient as of this moment, My mom does not have Primary Physician here since she is just visiting, I would like to ask some help around the area of Olathe, Overland Park would be a good doctor to visit that accepts first time patient

Sorry wait is so long. I would get on the list even if it is far off from now. You can always cancel.
Here is a list of support groups in KS. Maybe you could call one of them for info. or go to a meeting?

Hi MaryJoFay,
I know what you mean about it being difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Pahwa. My former neurologist told me during a visit in July 2014 that he had run out of options. So he referred me to Dr. Pahwa. My appointment wasn't until Jan 2015. Fortunately someone canceled so they had an opening in Nov 2014. He did order a brain MRI.

Just so you know, Dr. Pahwa has not got any openings before July! Jeezzzz...! Hope I'm still kicking when my appointment comes around! He does come highly recommended, however.
