I started on mirapex, I had rt leg dragging and rt arm difficult to move. I call it my miracle, after being on it for about a month i was almost normal my walking and arm improved almost completely, oh and my handwriting went from scribble to beautiful writing. There are some effects but I have not experienced any yet. All I know is they will have to come and get me if they want to take me off of it.
besides pd i also have ra, my doc say's that is so un-fair, like if the stiffness and pain from pd was'nt enough to deal with...i also agree that we as pd sufferers must try and keep moving as much as possible. i have been a martial-artists for the last 46yrs and i believe that doing tai-chi everyday has helped keep me from advancing as fast as i might have without it. stay positive you are not alone!
I'm also on levadopa. Unfortunately I was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis so I take several rx for that. But the most important thing to do with PD is to workout and go on the Mediterranean diet. Both have been studied and show significant results for possibly delaying the progress of PD. If you can go tp Utube and look up Leslie Stahl, newswoman, her husband has Pd. There is a greatpiece on boxing with PD. Positive thoughts coming your way.
My diagnosis was August 2014.
Thank you Susu, wish you the best also infighting this dragon we call Parkinson's !
