Third anti depressant being added to my husband's meds.
Hi @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member
I've taken a cocktail of Effexor XL 100mg, Buspar 15mg x 3, Wellbutrin XL 150mg for nearly 30 years, and has done wonders to keep my depression, anxiety, stress, and apathy on an even keel... I chosen these meds, because of they have been around for +50 years, have very little side effects, and continue to provide me the relief and benefit needed to keep this part of the illness (chemical imbalance) at bay..
Since I am able to keep these symptoms under good control, my PD meds work much more efficiently and have much less problems that has lead me to a much better Quality of Life.... Alan

BTW... How is your husbands symptoms? with stress, anxiety, depression... These are caused by a chemical imbalance with our brain.... It is a treatable illness... I try to explain that it really do different then having an illness like diabetics... which requires constant monitoring & medical treatment... for the best Quality of Life..... Once the anxiety & depression get under control, so he will get more relief from PD symptoms..... a really good thing ! Alan
I've been using it for a long time. It works well, my doctor told me not to take it near bedtime.
I get debilitating panic attacks which cause me to have total body cramps and freezing. But I'm going through a divorce and stress is tremendous. Clonazepam helps. But does not solve. My doc ordered another drug seriously but I have t started it because side effects look scary. Before I take more drugs, I'm trying to get myself to call a friend who can make me think of something else and distract me. I try singing, etc. Often nothing works because the fear of a panic attack makes panic attack worse. Catch 22! Oy!
Thank you, Alan1009, that is good to know. He needs to keep the anxiety and depression under control.
