Going to Europe (Athens, Istanbul) with family, next Sunday coming back on 31st May. This is the first time I am going on such a big trip after diagnosed with PD. My main anxiety is frequent Urinary urges. I am taking Toltordine which helps in the strength of the urges but has its side effect of constipation. I am trying to tough it out with daily 2 times colace, Milk of Magnesia every other day as needed (multiple times). Any pointers, specially by people familiar with these countries. Glad to hear about your trip and to Europe is a big deal! When we went to Ireland, it was before my husband was diagnosed but he already had started with the urinary urges becoming frequent. We were touring by bus and not in control of when we would have a restroom stop. Unfortunately he had a few accidents, but the hotels were very accommodating to launder his pants quickly since we were usually only staying one night here and there. He hadn't told me he was experiencing this so I was not prepared with supplies. Hind sight being 20/20 I recommend you do a trial run of Depends Underwear for men. If you find it doesn't hold enough, also use a Depends Maximum Absorbancy Guards inside the underwear, which you can more easily switch out in a public restroom than changing an underwear would be. Carry some small 'doggy doo-doo' bags with you to dispose of them inconspicuously. Once you decide, take at least 1 Depends Underwear per day and at least 2 of the Guards per day. This is what he does now when we travel. He just started the medicine Mirbetriq so crossing fingers it will help. When you travel now a days there is no telling when you will be stuck in a line such as for TSA perhaps, or in traffic so better to be safer than sorry. And for the constipation, I wouldn't mess around while traveling with liquids. You need a consistent uncomplicated way to keep the plumbing running smooth. I recommend Miralax packets. They are convenient to pack, just mix with water at bedtime and by morning you are literally good to go, without cramps or worry that it may interfere with your other meds.
I truly hope you are able to figure out a suitable solution for your peace of mind so you can focus on the sights!! Bon Voyage!
