Looking for people (trainers, participants with Parkinsons) to start a Rock Steady Boxing program in Arhens, GA. Closest programs currently are Augusta and Sandy Springs, so something local would fill a need.
Can you help us to bring Rock Steady to our area of Georgia? My husband did the Big program but it just doesn't have enough benefit for him or support to sustain doing it.
Rock Steady looks better since it's targeted at PD symptoms similar to Big, and also has fun and social built in.
I can recommend Rock Steady Boxing:

I'm guessing we'd need about 20 people committed to doing it and somebody with existing boxing skills or background as a physical
therapist or personal trainer
and an interest in Parkinson's to get the training. Looks like it involves a trip to Imdianapolis and $700.
Also need an appropriate space.
Check out the Rock Steady website for Imdiana.
Also saw a youtube video of a PD medical researcher who decided to start a boxing for PD in New York City.
She's an inspiration.
I am in Watkinsville and would love to have a local Rock Steady program. What do we need to do?
Oh no, just realized you're not in Athens. I'm hoping to get interest going within 25 miles.
