My husband was diagnosed with pd in 2014. Typical meds did not help. After seeing many drs. and further testing, we were told he has Atypical pd. After more specialized tests, we found that he has Cortical Basal Degeneration. We found a wonderful neurologist at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore that specializes in this. We are in northern NY, but travel there every 8 weeks, more if needed. As rare as this form is, we are fortunate to him.
Make sure you are being tested for all types of pd. Much luck and please keep me informed.

Parkinsons has been slower but making more changes at present. Like pain in shoulders and neck getting very intense in the evening the last 4 or 5 nights

will be interesting to see if yours tremors and all are just a variation on Parkinsons as each seems to be different or you have another diagnosis

There's a couple in there I think particularly that you would be interested in. The subject matter is other diseases that mimic Parkinson's and Parkinson medication being ineffective on whatever disease they may have. One of the diseases is called Lyme's Disease. another disease that mimics Parkinson's disease is MSA or Multiple System Atrophy. Feel free to add your own questions that you may have to the Q&A. I see you're down in Alabama but if you're willing to travel to New York City, try to get in to see somebody at the Movement Disorders Center of Mount Sinai Beth Israel who works under Susan Bressman or Rachel Saunders-Pullman (I doubt Bressman or Saunders-Pullman are accepting new patients).
