I was wondering how many people used CBD oil and how it benefit you ? Brought it up at my dr appt. the other day. She is not a big fan of it because there has not been many study's on it.
Then she just blew it off . Not fair ..
My Dad has been using CBD oil for about 6 months now. He is almost Stage 5, needs help sometimes to get out of chairs and bed, and get dressed, but can still do a few things on his own. I am in Canada, that allows us access to a stable and clean source. We have tried a few different types of oils, with different levels of THC and CBD. The big thing we have noticed is that his face and body arent kinked up like before. Prior to the oil, his face was screwed to the side, his arms were folded up to his chest. Now he can sit normally and doesn't look pissed off all the time. We have just started one with the highest CBD level we can get, and Dad has been more alert then he has in months. And he is back exercising again. His main doctor will not discuss mm, but he has reduced Dads leva dopa, so he is now taking 4 pills, 4 times a day. At one point he was at 9 pills a day. Our family is one that tries to avoid pills as long as possible. And at this point Dad hasn't needed to get medication for other issues that people seem to be experiencing.
It is not a cure all. But it seems to be helping my Dad. And as RevSmarks says, there is no way out. If you are going to try mm, please make sure you are getting the real stuff, there are legitimate producers. If you get street weed, you could be getting something laced with much harsher drugs. There is almost no information on dosing suggestions, we started low and are working to more, but are limited financially. He has not experienced any negative side effects at this point. And has not gotten stoned.
You don't get stoned. CBD hemp oil is made from high-CBD, low-THC hemp, unlike medical marijuana products, which are usually made from plants with high concentrations of psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Because hemp contains only trace amounts of THC, these hemp oil products are non-psychoactive. But you raise a good question what effect will CBD have on the brain. Being a user of CBD I can report the calming effect it has on my brain is worth the danger of long term effects. There no way out of this disease so short term relief outweighs long term effects.
I started using cannibis while I was caregiving. I know that sounds shocking to some people, but it really helped me deal/cope with all that my husband needed after I had spent a busy day at work. Pot helped me go from, "Are you kidding me?" to "Sure, no problem." I am currently taking Azilect. I have not noticed any I'll effects.
Hi @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member , I am in Canada, I notice you are in Florida. Here, once one has a prescription, they must register with a licensed provider. These are government approved and regulated growers. There are different LP's and they offer different products. We are very lucky. In two of the largest cities there are store front dispensaries, but at this point they are still iillegal and get busted by cops and robbed.
As far as the USA, I don't know too much. But be aware the studies on MM done in the states are done with a very low potency, low quality marijuana. Because it's still a schedule 1 narcotic. The scientists doing research are frustrated because they can't get access to better products.
It's hard to find information because people are reluctant to post because of legal consequences.
There is an app called Leafly, it has tons of informations on different types of marijuana and better people then I to explain THC and CBD.
I don't think the issue is how stoned you may or may not get. I think the problem the medical researchers and the doctors have with recommending cannabis oil or MM is the question as to possible future neurological damage to the brain. So, whether it helps people or not is not the issue. The issue is, "PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK".
