Do You Know About Alternative Dopamine Replacement?
A MyParkinsonsTeam Member asked a question 💭

AtreMorine, Montelukast, Cannabnoids, Benedryl, Liquid Nicotine, beets, and Inosine to name a few dopamine replacement alternatives. You can explore these for yourself. I have been my own guinea pig with these products.. I have already been taking the Inosine for more than 2 years. I have vaped or put cannabnoid drops under my tongue, and vaped liquid nicotine. Montelukast is a drug for allergies and you need a prescription for it...but most allergy medications can be purchased over the counter… read more

You need to be careful with beets. I know my dad couldn't eat them because of some vitamin or mineral that they were high in. Always check with your doctors before using alternative medicine. My dad couldn't take something as simple as Metamucil either. Please be cautious. With my medical issues, there are many, many alternative methods that could lead to my demise. These include certain vitamins and minerals.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member have been trying red beet powder for 2 weeks to normalize high BP. Interesting about the dopamine connection. Time for my state North Carolina to allow Medical Marijuana for PD population. Atremorine also of interest. My movement disorder specialist refused to write a prescription for nasal spray glutathione even though I had researched thoroughly and found an apothecary in Washington State that makes it.
Next step is appointment with a holistic doctor who graduated from same university as the glutathione trial coordinator in Seattle (featured on MJFFPodcast conventional/alternative medicine). She seems receptive to my inquiry. Sometimes it takes lots of steps to realize our goal.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Truthfully, nothing has helped with the balance and gait. Walking in a straight line is most difficult for me than any other symptom. However I have extraneous reasons for the gait problem though. I have Cervical Dystonia and scoliosis and degenerative neck and back problems. But PD is definitely aggravating my balance. I plan to try a lot of other things other than the ones I Have already utilized. I think there's got to be something to be found that will help. And when I find something that works I will definitely share it with all of you. Sterling
