Here in Ontario there are a lot of clinics helping those with PD. I have had several MRIs done and have never waited too long for them. Some hospitals run 24 hour clinics. But some specialists take months to give you an appointment. But overall the care is pretty good, all appointments, and tests are covered and most drugs are covered on the Government disability plan. Most hospitals also have free programs that will help you with exercising and mobility. And we also have access to many cannabis clinics and dispensaries.

Yes, you have to have a prescription which is usually given to you either by your family doctor or by a pain clinic@

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. Hello. Do you take advantage of the cannabis dispensaries? Do you have to have a prescription to get the Cannabnoids? Just curious. Let me know. Sterling

Since I am a veteran of the US ARMY, my care is provided through the local VAMC and for the STN-DBS surgery, I had to travel to the PADRECC in San Francisco, Ca. My primary neurlogist here in Reno, Nv, specializes in Parkinson's Disease. Before President Trump came into office,my care was exceptional.
