My Neurologist started me on 9 tabs of Sinemet 25/100 immediately at my first visit 6 years ago.... upon my next visit ~ 2 months later, he increased my dose to 12 tabs of Sinemet 25/100mg and 4 Comtan 200mg a day, with outstanding results... I divide this total dosage between 4 dosages a day.... They have been a miracle to me by enhancing my quality of life now 6 years on meds, and total of 16 years with PD... Alan

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member I really encourage you to look into taking some other PD meds...My Mom did the same thing she tried a BUNCH of natural remedies for years everything from detox baths, to many supplements where she would get muscle tested to adjust for what her body was low in, colonics, kumbucha teas, the whole bit she did this for about 4 or 5 years and was taking Stalevo at a low dosage. When she got bad enough the Dr's in Houston almost laughed when she told them what she was doing. They said that if she had taken something else besides Stalevo a PD drug that was more powerful and up to date that she could have slowed down the progression of her PD significantly....Food for thought my friend! @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member How old are You?When a patient is diagnosed with Young onset of Parkinson's below the age of 45 or Parkinson's age 50 and up, the standard treatment is Sinemet it helps greatly with mouvements.I don't know why you're not on treatment if you've been diagnosed last year. Sinemet is the proper medication to attenuate the mouvement difficulty caused by Parkinson's. I think you need to consult a Mouvement Disorder Specialist the accurate Neurologist to treat Parkinson's.He is specialized in PD.It seems like your doctor has no idea how to treat Parkinson's
